Daily Deviation

Given 2010-09-22
It is easy to agree upon the message in Insanity by *TehPuppetmaster. This many layered piece illustrates insanity very good and shows a great amount of something uncontrollable and random.
Keeping the colors simple and only using one color to set emphasis gives it a lot of calmness and makes it easy and pleasing to look at. ( Suggested by `mintyy and Featured by ^pica-ae )

Producing the image itself yeah doesn't seem difficult. I am more interested in the lighting effect. It almost looks like global illumination in 3d software. Any quick tips?

hi! yeah you could do that with 3D Software and GI but this is just a lot of Photoshop Layers with inner and outer Shadows, some thin outlines and some basic painted shadows...and some randomly multiplyed textures like clouds or rusted metal...for each Letter individually... hope this helps :)
